Female Leadership Coalition

Coming January 2020

“LEADERSHIP MATTERS!”

The linchpin of a thriving PK-12 community is the capable and culturally relevant Female leader.  Mark of Resilience wholeheartedly believes that LEADERSHIP MATTERS!  Although “schooling” is elevated by all of its stakeholders, it is the head educator who serves as the conduit that keeps all systems operating fluidly.

FLC is designed to have a focus and rationale for leadership professional development that addresses the problems of practice, specifically related to teaching and learning. The goal of all professional development must addresses significant problems related to Female teachers' effectiveness and Female students' learning and must aim to reduce the discrepancies between schools and districts’ goals for student learning and achievement.

FLC is designed for current and aspiring school administrators to:

  • Address "authentic problems" using reliable data about students, schools, districts and the vision for student achievement

  • Engage participants in an examination of their own practice with the aim of defining for themselves a vision of what it means to be a principal of a high- performance learning community

  • Encourage the development of an in-depth understanding of the essential features of high- performance learning communities

  • Explicit strategies and competencies for supporting learning for all students

  • Have its foundation based in the framework of an overall district professional development plan geared towards female students and educators.

FLC is designed to promote all of the best practices supported by the Danforth research.  Additionally, FLC is intentionally structured for advocacy around the necessity of PK-12 educational systems that are reflective of the cultural and economic conditions of under-resourced populations. FLC introduces its participants to America’s most insightful and esteemed thinkers.  We invite the top lecturers, authors, and practitioners to speak on the eight professional competencies aligned to the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium’s (ISLLC) six professional standards.
